Another week has passed and I’ve made a little more progress. The other day, I picked up a pack of business cards for the organization. I got them printed at Tooele Transcript Bulletin. When I first called them to find out how to get the cards printed, the lady who answered the phone gave me enough information over the phone and by e-mail so I could get them printed how I wanted. She was patient and helpful. They did a good job on the cards. I designed the cards and e-mailed a file to them and the cards look like what I created on my computer. I’m happy with how they turned out. Now I have something I can hand people with information about the organization and how to contact me.
Another thing I worked on this week was this website. I made a few small improvements to refine it a little more. I probably won’t spend too much more time on it though, so I can focus on other more important things. The site is adequate for now. (I am annoyed that I haven’t been able to figure out why HTML code shows up at the bottom of these blog posts or a way to fix it.)
Something that was important to me was an online presence plan. I pretty much finished putting together a document describing how I will use each of the parts of the organization’s online presence, such as this website and the organization’s Facebook page. After I completed the plan, I used it as a guide to post my first organization posts in a local Facebook group and the organization’s Facebook page.
I am hoping that next week I will be able to focus more on mission-related work, so I may not have much new progress on building the organization to post here. According to my new online plan, I post progress on mission-related work on the organization’s Facebook page. Down the road that could change.
